It's Tuesday: Where Are You? (Dec. 30)

I'm cheating a bit today because I'm in limbo between states and time periods.

Yesterday I was in Virginia in the early 1800s. I was visiting Thomas Jefferson at Monticello and learning about his life and family in the years after he left the White House. (Twilight at Monticello by Allan Pell Crawford [review up later today or tomorrow])

Later this evening, I'll be back in modern times visiting my childhood friend Nancy Drew, girl detective, as she tries to solve a case in her home town of River Heights. I don't know what's in store for me once we get working on the mysery, but I'm looking forward to seeing Nancy, Bess, and George in their first graphic novel! (Nancy Drew #1, The Demon of River Heights by Stefan Petrucha)

Nancy Drew in a graphic novel, huh? That sounds awesome. I'm so glad I stopped here today. I couldn't help myself, though because I had a friend in high school whose mother was Beth Fish. (you didn't ever live in Michigan, did you? LOL) :) Have a great New Year!

I never read much Nancy Drew - I was a Bobbsey Twins fan. Graphic novel is a great idea for those books.

I am in the countryside of France, with the rest of humanity that has escaped from Paris during the German occupation in WWII. I'm fighting for food and a warm place to sleep (Suite Francaise).

Nancy Drew rocks, with her strawberry blond hair and that handsome Ned by her side.

I am intrigued by the Jefferson book - will have to come back for your review. Have you ever been to Monticello? It is a fascinating place.

The Nancy Drew graphic novel will be my first-ever graphic. I'm looking forward to finding the time to read this evening.

I love hearing where everyone's books are taking them: Africa, Europe, U.S. . . .

The Jefferson book was excellent. And I'm hoping to get to Monticello this year. It sounds totally amazing.
