What I'm Reading Now

Here's what's at the top of my TBR list. Look for reviews over the next several weeks.

The Case of the Missing Marquess is the first Enola Holmes mystery and is also the first ebook I downloaded from the library onto my new Sony eReader. Magickeepers is the first in a new middle reader fantasy series.

I'm really looking forward to these books in which historian Claire Donovan attempts to solve mysteries from the past. Both books move between modern times and the seventeenth century. The Rossetti Letter takes us to historic Venice and The Devlin Diary to London.

And what's summer without some good books about women and couples? Castaways focus on four couples and what happens after a devastating event breaks up their group. Every Last Cuckoo is about how a fifty-something woman copes with the loss of her husband. And Cutting Loose is about three women who meet in Miami, each trying to make a new start.

So many great looking books in this post. I thought MAGICKEEPERS was great for the middle grade group. I am going to read DEVLIN too but I'm hoping that it can stand alone!

Looking forward to hear about your experience with your new reader. I have yet to try one (we cannot get them in Denmark yet, as far as I know, but its only something like seconds away before we can, as I understand).

Also, think a lot of the books you mention here sounds really interesting.

Great post.

Oh, I'm sure I saw an ad for The Devlin Diary and thought it looked fantastic! I can't remember if I requested it or not but I'm looking forward to seeing what you think.

I can't wait to read about your e-reader experience. Will you get all of those read before you add to the pile again?

Oooh, you got an e-reader! It seems hard to imagine that there could be more obsession with books, but these e-readers will do it to you! All of these books sound amazing. I can't wait to hear about them!

I'm looking forward to reading The Devlin Diary and The Castaways. I read Cutting Loose and the cover doesn't match the title at all. Good book.

Ok - I need to add more books to my TBR pile like I need a hole in my head, but you have given me 4 books that I know I must read! Oh well, there are worse vices that having an insanely long list of books, right?

I am SO curious to hear how you like the Sony eReader. I anxiously await a review of that - and of all these great books.

Is The Case of the Missing Marquess a cozy mystery? It certainly looks cosy and quite appealing.

I'm reading a few of those myself! :) It will be fun to compare notes!

Add me to the list of wanting to know all about your Sony ereader. There are a couple of books here that look really great too. Happy reading.

I have The Rossetti Letter, The Devlin Diary, and The Castaways on my list, too. I'm especially looking forward to the first two.

The Dajani book is on my nightstand. The Devlin Diaries and Rosetta Letter sound interesting. I will add them to my library list.

Have fun with the Enola Holmes book! My library has ebooks, but you have to read them on the site :(

The Claire Donovan look interesting - the premise reminds me a bit of Josephine Tey's The Daughter of Time. I think I would like these two books. And Cutting Loose sounds right up my alley, too.

I really wanted to read The Rossetti Letter. Finally got a copy and still haven't read it!

The Rossetti Letter looks interesting. Love books about Venice.

Looking forward to hearing how you like the e-reader. You have a great list of books here and I like how you grouped them. I will be reading Castaways as well. I love the cover of Every Last Cuckoo.

Those look like some good books. I have Castaways, but many of those others are new-to-me!

Melissa 6/15/09, 6:32 PM

I just started The Rossetti Letter last night so that I can get to The Devlin Diary soon. It's good so far.

I just finished "Cutting Loose" and I'll be writing my review pretty soon. I'm curious to see what you think about it. I was surprised by the path she chose for the characters in some ways! But Nadine Dajani seems to be the sweetest, nicest, most thoughtful author I've come across. I got the loveliest thank you not from her and a few e-mails. She is lovely!
