This Week in Print: The Dust of 100 Dogs by A. S. King

I should be happy now that I've survived the curse. After 100 lives as a dog it's great to be a human again. But in 20th-century America, a 16-year-old girl just doesn't have the same freedoms as I had back in the late 1600s. Well, the good news is that I am great at history; the bad news is that pirate isn't the profession my parents have in mind for me. If only I could get a plane ticket and a shovel, I'd be able to dig up my treasure and be free.

MizB at Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Here's how it works: Grab your current read; let the book fall open to a random page; and share 2 “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12. For more teasers, click on through to MizB's blog.

A puppy can walk and wander and whine from the minute they leave the amniotic sac. There is a freedom in that, which I learned to appreciate during those first years as a human again. Lying on my back for hours in a crib, wearing a diaper, and drooling made me feel like an idiot. (p. 8)

Yes, a baby's life has its problems. And think about all that milk they have to drink! Yuck! Sounds like an interesting book. And I love that cover! Good teaser.

I was in the dark about this 'just out' book until your post. Sounds like a very interesting premise. I really liked your perspective in the "where are you" blurb.

That is really a great teaser I think. I am tempted to put this on my wish list, now that I am out there looking for books to buy, buy, buy (I recently cleaned out a ton of books, so I feel like it is totally okay to get some new ones to fill the empty spaces on the shelves ;o)
