Oh wow. Super creepy! That reminds me of a book I just finished called Hideaway by Dean Koontz. The murderer doesn't let them look peacefully asleep though... Great teaser and thanks for stopping by!
A female serial murderer is an interesting twist...something you don't see in novels very often, and in real life even less than that.
